Volunteers stay in the village of Tisswit or in nearby accommodation, within the local community. The experience is designed to share in the daily life of the village.

🍲 Meals

Three homemade meals are served daily, prepared with local ingredients. The cuisine is simple and traditional, based on regional recipes and fresh products.

💧 Water

The village water is safe for local residents, but as a precaution, volunteers are recommended to drink bottled water. Bottled water is easily available in the village.

🌍 Rhythm of Life

Tisswit is a rural community in the Middle Atlas with its own pace, customs, and ways of living. Participating in the program involves adapting to the local context with respect and openness. Modest clothing is requested when interacting with children and locals during volunteering.

📶 Connectivity

The village has basic mobile coverage. Internet access may be limited, so we recommend taking the opportunity to disconnect and fully experience the surroundings.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need prior experience to participate?

No. No prior volunteer experience or specific educational training is required. The project is designed for people eager to collaborate, learn, and actively engage in activities with the children. Many participants join for the first time. What matters most is attitude, respect for the local culture, and willingness to get involved.

What kind of profile do volunteers usually have?

The group is usually very diverse. Participants include students, professionals, travelers, and people interested in education or cooperation. What they all share is an interest in experiencing other cultures and contributing their time and energy to the project.

How are activities with the children organized?

Activities are organized weekly according to a small educational plan so that children can progress without repeating the same tasks. Volunteers help prepare and run classes, games, creative workshops, and group dynamics, always working as a team and adapting activities to the children and local context.

How many volunteers are there in each session?

Groups are kept small to maintain a close, manageable experience. This also creates a more human environment and helps volunteers integrate smoothly into village life.

Is this a community-responsible volunteer program?

Yes. The project is carried out in direct collaboration with the local community. The goal is not to “help from the outside” but to create a shared learning space where volunteers contribute time, energy, and knowledge while gaining a deep understanding of the culture and reality of the place.

What is daily life like during the program?

The program fosters a close-knit environment among participants. Activities, meals, and daily moments are shared, making the experience both an educational project and a rich human and cultural experience. Many participants maintain contact even after the program ends.

Is it safe to participate in the project?

Yes. Morocco is used to receiving visitors, and the program takes place in a community where the local team knows the environment well. Volunteers also receive guidance and coordination before and during their stay to handle any situation that may arise.

Can I come alone, or is it better to come with someone?

Most volunteers come alone. The program is designed so that the group quickly gets to know each other, creating a natural and friendly atmosphere. In a few days, a very close-knit group usually forms.

What can I contribute to the project?

Everyone brings something different. Some volunteers offer ideas for games, workshops, or educational activities, while others contribute creativity, energy, or simply their ability to connect with children. Nobody is expected to arrive with everything prepared. The project is built together by all participants.

What do people usually take away from this experience?

Many volunteers describe the program as a transformative experience. Living with the community, interacting with children, and experiencing the village lifestyle provides a new perspective on reality. It’s not just about what you give, but also what you learn and take back with you.

Would you like to join the project this summer?

If you feel this project is a good fit for you, the next step is very simple.

Fill out the registration form and tell us a little about yourself, indicating the session you’d like to join.
We will then arrange a short online interview to get to know each other and answer any questions before confirming your spot.
